For extra strength, the core of these external doors are made up of 3 layers of laminated lightweight hardwood, sandwiched with 6mm of external hardwood plywood, bonded with exterior glue.

It is recommended that the door blank be faced with Tricoya boards on both sides for a longer lifespan, with a 6mm+ hardwood lining on all 4 edges, before being spray painted in any colour. Alternatively, the core can be faced with any natural wood of your choice.

Thermal Conductivity: The door blanks have a good U-Value of 0.9 W/m2k for 54mm and 1.0 W/m2k for 44mm, in accordance with Building Regulations Approved document Part L.

Acoustic Sound Attenuation: The door blanks can reduce noise by up to 36dB, according to Building Regulations Document E.

Fire Certification: The door blanks have been successfully tested to FD60 fire rating, and certified to meet British Standard BS 476-22 and European Standard BSEN 1634.

Lightweight: The door blanks only weigh 31kg for 2135 x 915 x 44mm and 45kg for 2135 x 915 x54mm.

Mechanical properties: The door blanks exceed the requirements for ‘Severe Duty’ performance for durability and wear and tear, as per DD171 and BSEN 1192.

Sustainability: The core of the door is manufactured from fast growing tropical hardwood, which is harvested from forests following an ISO14001 environmental management system or an FSC Certification scheme.

Certification: The door blank is manufactured to ISO9001 management certification, approved by BM TRADA Q Mark Audit scheme and is a recognised component for use within the BWF Certifire scheme.
