This threshold is a timber alternative and is ideal for longer lasting timber doors, as it is designed to prevent water absorption and to avoid rot at the bottom of the jambs. This highly secure door threshold features an insulated, high strength twin-chamber, made from ultra-light glass reinforced plastic (GRP). It comes securely fitted to the door frame.

Insulation: The door threshold features an insulated thermal break by way of a polyurethane insulated outer-chamber and hollow core inner-chamber. It is airtight and thermally efficient, with a U-value as low as 0.89 W/m2K.

Weatherproof: The threshold is designed to prevent water absorption and to resist rotting. As a waterproof product, the threshold will not need replacing for years. The threshold comes with a polyurethane support plinth upstand pre-shaped to perfectly suit the door jamb profile (attached with stainless steel fixings), which reduces opportunities for rot to rise up the jambs, thereby giving timber doors a much longer lifespan.

Lightweight: The threshold is easy to handle thanks to its structure which is ten times lighter than stone.

Impressive stability: It has a thermal coefficient of expansion of 0.4mm per metre at 50 degrees centigrade. Dimensionally stable to prevent warping or twisting, it does not bend or move no matter its length, making it an ideal choice for large double doors.

Airtightness: Combined with an airtight compression seal, this energy saving threshold prevents cold-bridging beneath the door and makes this threshold suitable for Passive House construction. The additional weather seal has been selected as it is specifically designed to cope with harsh winds and heavy rain and can easily withstand very hot temperatures.

High strength: It has proven to be a high performance product with a ten-year track record in properties all across Europe, and is used in over half of all new doors installed in Netherland. The threshold maintains its appearance over time thanks to a high abrasion, UV-resistant, corundum granule surface coating, which reduces its wear and tear and provides a durable finish.
